Add Beauty and Tranquility to Your Garden

Have you ever stopped and enjoyed the relaxing sound of a garden fountain and wished you could have one of your own? Do you imagine sitting in your yard and letting the tensions of the day slide off you like water gliding over smooth rock? Does the vision come to a screeching halt when you hear that little voice saying, "It must be complicated. It looks expensive. I don't even know where to begin!"

At Advantage Services, our goal is to remove the complications so you can bring your vision to life. We'll help you select materials, decide on the optimal fountain size and placement, and handle all the details so you don't have to.

To get you started, here are some things to think about as you consider adding a fountain to your yard:

  • Water features must be deep enough and have adequate volume to protect against freezing.
  • Fifty percent of the surface water must be protected from sunlight to avoid algae buildup. You can achieve this with rocks or water plants.
  • It's best to vary the plants surrounding the water feature. Evergreen and perennials are good choices. Try to avoid deciduous plants because they create debris and can cause water contamination.
  • Consider using an automatic timer to activate the feature at the times you are home most often. Be sure to use one with an override feature so that you can easily turn it on for those special occasions.
